Patients sue Walgreens for making money on their data

Walgreens is selling de-identified information to third parties who data-mine this information who then sell it to pharmaceutical companies.  Entities such as Walgreens and these data mining companies often claim the data is used for important medical research.  It would be nice to know statistics on this in terms of what percentage of the mining is used for research, marketing and physician targeting.  Patients sue Walgreens for making money on their data.
